As an expat who has now lived in Riga and area off & on for eight years or so I feel that I’ve developed a way of looking at this country and it’s inhabitants that is unique to most non-citizens. A way of seeing both the good and bad and keeping it all in context with the people and their history. I would like to bring that experience to you. The hostels and cafe’s of Riga and the people who use them. The museums big and small, the parks, the Central Market, the architecture and what it is really like to live in some of those drafty buildings with the beautiful exteriors. And the tourists because they are as much a part of the landscape as the beggars and cops and graffiti artists. And every now and then I’ll jump on a train and go to Jūrmala or Tukums or some other town to provide a new location and point of reference that may be difficult for the weekend warrior to access.
